A Day at the Opera

A lively opening reception for the art by Carl Plansky was held at the Gallery at Carillon located at 227 West Trade Street in Charlotte. Soprano Amanda Slesser of Opera Carolina captivated the guests with her powerful voice. Plansky's Diva series was front and center with the artist's signature style. Larry Elder gave a brief history of opera and discussed Plansky's passion for opera. Paintings of Maria Callas, Montserrat Caballé, and Aprile Millo were displayed along with a portrait of Abstract Expressionist, Grace Hartigan as Diva Elenor Steber and another of Diva Rose Stole.
